I was not out during the race, but my son was racing on a Catalina 27. Apparently, they decided as a group that the wind wouldn't be filling in reliably so they all left before the race was called. I'm not sure I like depending on forecasts to make the decision on whether to race...

I know this is old, but who is "They". EYC or the Catalina 27 fleet?

I completely agree. Don't call racing on a forecast. Make the call on the water, but as a fleet, they can do what they want I guess.
